Michael A. Wood, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Wood is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in Foot, Ankle and Reconstructive Rearfoot Surgery; a Diplomate of the American Academy of Wound Management; a Fellow of The Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons; a member in good standing of both the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association. He completed his training in foot and ankle surgery at Edgewater Medical Center in Chicago where he was trained in reconstructive surgical procedures of the foot and ankle.
He is on active staff at Franciscan Wound Healing and Prevention Institute and is head of the podiatry section at Franciscan Medical Center at the Munster and Dyer campuses. Dr. Wood is a published author, His training continues in advanced surgical techniques as new technologies become available.
Additionally, Dr, Wood continues to have active involvement in the teaching of residents and student doctors. Dr. Wood is a Past-President of The Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons.
